SEASON 2003

Click on dates for the Week's Log that you want to read,  click here to go back to Contents Page

N.B. Links are in blue, or occasionally grey, and are underlined. If the dates are in any other colour, then there is no link to a log page.  Either it hasn't been written up yet, or the link  is broken. Try to "refresh" the page - but the problem is probably mine or with me, so don't try too hard - and please accept my apologies.

N. VERY MUCH MORE B.  You MUST "refresh" this page when you visit us. Right click your mouse and click on the "refresh" command, or just click on the little "refresh" box in the top of your screen.  Otherwise the latest version of the page doesn't download, and it just pretends that there is no more there than there was when you last visited.

Please read this!   (November 2003)
Since the beginning of this year producing this log/web site went badly.   Initially we were unable to uploaded photos after the first 2 - 4 weeks due to the spiraling cost of the mobile phone/computer/ISP connection.    Then, almost surreptitiously, everything got slower and slower and more and more difficult, until finally, at the beginning of August, the computer just terminally died .
Wrote up the last week in July,  then one morning I left the thing booting itself whilst I went to help Herself and the boat through a lock, and returned to find it (the computer) had died in a wave of silly screens and hot plastic smells.
This is being written in the UK with the computer duly repaired - new mother board and hard disk on PC World's insurance.
Comparing it's performance now, to that in the spring and early summer, it looks as though it was brewing it's terminal illness right through that period.
Regrettably, the sickness destroyed the hard drive, so virtually all photos since April this year were lost, except those uploaded onto the web - a practice I had virtually given up early on due to the cost, which, in turn was probably due to the computer "going slow".   Fortunately, virtually everything else was either backed up onto CD, or recoverable.
This skeletal web was re-downloaded from our web page back onto the computer!
